"Sometimes taking a break from reality makes reality a little better."

About Us

About Zazlandia:
Zazlandia is an island in an unnamed geographic location.  It’s hidden on purpose.  It’s not a place for those with mean spirits.  No bullies allowed.  It’s a place to find peace, fun and maybe even a bit of joy.  We Zazlandians seek to live simple, encouraging and joyful lives.  We invite anyone who is in need of refreshment to come play with us for a while.

About Zaz:
Despite what you might think, Zaz isn’t the Queen or anything (we don’t really have one of those).  She is the chief administrator of Zazlandia at the present.  And no, Zazlandia isn’t named after her (but we can understand why you would think that).  Zaz is short for “enthusiasm” and Zazlandia is a place that is enthusiastic about life and living.  So is Zaz.  It’s just a good match.  Zaz is also known as “Carol Ann”.  You can call whichever you choose.

About Zinzy:
Zinzy is an exceptional dog who is chief greeter in Zazlandia.  She is also Zaz’s nearly constant companion.  Zaz has long fingernails so that pretty much explains it.  Zinzy, as best we can tell, is part Australian Shepherd and Border Collie.  Even though she comes from herding breeds, she has an amazing rest ethic.  If you are looking for good places to nap in Zazlandia, Zinzy can point you in the right direction.

Quick Tour

Since Zazlandia is new, this will truly be a quick tour.  As time goes on, I’m hoping it might take a bit longer. We’ll just keep adding stuff here, so if you get lost, you know where to go.

Right now, Zazlandia is pretty much a blog.  Eventually, it will be more.  Until that happens, the primary focus will be in the Almost Daily Diversions section of the site.  Several times a week, different things will be posted to attempt to get you thinking, spark your imagination or maybe just make you smile.

The Color of the Week is a way to open your eyes to the world of colors that surround you.  It’s also a way to win fun prizes, but you’ll have to wait to hear about that later.

The Quote of the Week will hopefully get you thinking about something.  Sometimes funny, sometimes deep, but always  worthy of discussion.

Celebrating Creativity is our way of highlighting something we find beautiful or creative.  It could be a song, a piece of artwork, a photograph, or many other things we haven’t even thought of yet.

Small Joys are little things that make us happy.

This ends your quick tour.  Thanks for visiting Zazlandia!  Come take another tour soon so you don’t miss anything exciting!

Guidelines for Zazlandic Fun

Follow Your Heart by Kim ThompsonThis is an upbeat happy place and we want to keep it that way.  It’s also a place that our kids will visit.  That means that everything shared by anyone here needs to be kid-friendly and on the positive side of things.  Need to vent about something?  This is not the place.  Right now, we have one major guideline:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Keep that and all will be grand.  Have a zaztastic day!
