Zazlandic Pinto

A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.  ~Pam Brown

My daughter has taught me to love horses.  I’ve always loved animals, but a horse stepped on my foot at camp in 7th grade and I haven’t been too fond of the critters since.  When my daughter would have a good day at school, we would wander around for a while looking for horses in the area as a reward.  We would always neigh in our best horse dialect.  Now when we visit, some will respond by looking at us or even coming closer.  I can see them now as they are – strong, powerful, beautiful.  One of our favorite movies is Secretariat (and if you haven’t seen it, hurry up and do so).  Amazing creatures.  My Zazlandic Pinto friend here definitely helps me escape from my mundane existence.

Is there an animal you admire or dream of being like?  I’ve always had a kinship with koalas.  I think it’s because they are small, fuzzy and like to sleep a lot.  Thankfully I don’t smell like one (most days).  I often wish I was as easy going as Zinzy (if you don’t know who that is, click here) or able to fly above the fray, like my bird friends.  We watched an eagle today that didn’t even flap his wings while doing lazy circles overhead.  Dreamy.

I think I’ll post this guy on Pinterest.  Are you on Pinterest?  We’d love to follow you there.  Post a link to your boards and we’ll visit.  Oh, and if you haven’t already signed up for the early invite to Pinerly, an organizational site for Pinterest, go check out this link.  If there is ever anything in Zazlandia that you want to post to your boards, you are welcome to do so as long as you tell people where you found the photos.  We’d love to make some new friends.

May you have beautiful, horse-filled dreams this week!

  1. What a beautiful horse. I would dream of a lazy walk through the woods on my own friend like this… Still do. Love the quote!
